The General Sherman Sequoia tree is the living largest tree in the world and is generally considered the largest living thing in the world, with an estimated age of over 2,300 years.
It stands over 275 feet tall and has a circumference at its base of over 102 feet. Its weight is estimated to exceed 6100 tons.
Although hard to believe its said that the General Sherman adds enough new wood each year to produce the equivalent of another sixty foot tall tree.
Park visitors are dwarfed by the trunk of the General Sherman tree.
