Rough day at the office. When the clouds do clear the bears seem to really enjoy soaking up some rays.
Brown Bears and Grizzly Bears are the same species. In general Bears living within 50 miles of the coast are considered browns. Animals living further inland are considered Grizzlies.
Grizzlies are omnivores feeding on a variety of plants berries roots and grasses in addition to fish insects and small mammals. Salmon are a key part of their diet. Normally a solitary animal they will congregate along streams and rivers during Salmon runs. Weight to over 1200 pounds.
Range: Native to Asia Africa Europe and North America. Now extinct in much of their original range.
