Likely the most common Gull in North America. Often found inland around lakes and streams.
Hunted heavily in the nineteenth century for their plumage. Their populations have since rebounded.
Most often return to breed at the colony where they hatched. Once having bred they are likely to return to the same breeding spot each year.
Range: Can be found from Canada to Mexico Coastal and Inland
