Fin Whale Skull Exhibit.
The San Diego Natural History Museum opened in 1933 and and is the oldest scientific institute in Southern California. It includes exhibits on dinosaurs, fossils, and local habitats.
In 2001, it reopened after a major reconstruction, including a modern 90,000 square foot addition than more than doubled the size of the museum.
The Museum was founded in 1847 by a group of amateur nature enthusiasts, it remains an active research institute.
