Heavy bodied brown to olive-brown venomous snake thin neck with large triangular head.
Juveniles are 10 to 12 inches in length adults can be well over 50 inches.
Primarily nocturnal but can be active during daylight hours when temperatures are moderate.
Also found on Santa Cruz and Santa Catalina Islands.
Range: In Southern California from Santa Barbara County south into Baja east to the central valley and deserts.
