Ocean sunfish feed on jellyfish and other plankton. They can weigh up to 3000 pounds and are often found beneath drift kelp. A Sunfish produces millions of eggs in a single spawn. Sunfish often host a large number of parasites. This is a fin detail with copepod parasites and unknown invertebrate hitching a ride. Their truncated tail is called a Clavus.
