The San Gorgonio Pass outside of Palm Springs California has proven ideal for wind power generaton. The restricted pass formed by the San Jacinto and San Bernardino Moutains funnel coastal winds drawn by the hot desert regions of Indio Coachella and Palm Springs to the east. The largest of these turbines reach over 300 feet in height and can generate over 1000 killowatts of power per hour.
Like solar and geothermal wind power is a renewable or green power resource.
