The California Aqueduct is a 444 mile long man made channel that carries water from northern to southern California. A typical section is concrete lined 40 feet wide with an average water depth of 30 feet.
The California Aqueduct is a key part of the Central Valley Water Project which supplies the water needs of twenty million Californians and more than six hundred thousand irrigated acres of farmland.
