 Mule Deer

While in Sequoia, one of the animals I knew could likely be spotted was the Mule Deer. The first couple days I found myself carefully scanning the forest when moving between locations and even being a little extra quiet when hiking trails early or late in the day in hope of seeing one of these elusive deer. Well by the third evening I was getting tired of working out of my ice chest, so decided to head over to Wuksachi Lodge for dinner. As I pull into the parking lot there is a big group of people firing away with their point and shoots. Could it be a celebrity, a sports star maybe, or a dignitary? No its the local Mule Deer who decided to graze about twenty feet outside the front door of the lodge. For the most part she was completely oblivious to all the attention and camera flashes.
