California Grunion Photos
California Grunion
Grunion have a unique spawning cycle. Along the southern California coast, they leave the water at night to spawn on sand beaches. During spring and summer months they follow a very precise schedule. Grunion only run for a maximum of four nights, beginning on the night of a full or new moon and only at or immediately after a high tide.
