Yosemite - Giant Sequoia Trees
Giant Sequoias can reach heights of 270 feet or more. Their bark which can be as much as two feet thick protects them from forest fires and almost all insects. Due to their shallow root structure trees are most often killed not from age insects disease or fire but rather by being toppled in winter storms.
