This is a fresh Cookiecutter Shark bite. The shark must not of had a clean bite as normally a perfectly round plug of flesh is removed. This bite shows a flap of skin remaining. Although an ugly wound the unlucky recipient normally heals leaving only a minor scar.

Large sea fans Crinoids Sea Stars Nudibranchs and Rockfish were commonplace. On one of the dives I made we saw a Torpedo Ray that must have been five feet or more in length.
