Sequoia National Park Giant Sequoia Tree

When entering Sequoia National Park from the south, the park entrance is down in the foothills. Upon passing the visitors center you quickly begin gaining elevation. Along the way you pass several viewpoints such as Amphitheater Point and Eleven Range Overlook. The lower elevations are beautiful examples of undisturbed California Chaparral and Oak Woodlands. You soon transition into the lush forest environment. The first stand of Sequoias along the highway is quite impressive as the road passes directly through them. Even with a car to compare to, its hard to realize the sheer scale of these trees.
